Sarah Kerestes,
Physiotherapist
Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Alberta, and her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. During her time in Scotland she enjoyed her placements in stroke rehab, plastic surgery- hand clinic department, cardiac rehab, and private practice clinic.

Sarah uses primarily a manual therapy (hands-on) approach with complimentary exercises to best help her clients. She has found this personally to be the most effective treatment style and views the body as a whole system rather than just individual pieces. She always finds it exciting when her and her clients find an old and seemingly 'healed' injury that is actually the cause of their current problems- and is amazed on a day by day basis how connected each structure really is.

The post-graduate certifications/courses she has taken for further her knowledge include:
-
Shift Concussion Management: Level 1-Best Practices in Concussion Management (Level 2 in progress)
-
Acupuncture Canada: AA1 Foundations of Anatomical Acupuncture
-
Mobilization of the Myofascial System Applied to Headache and TMJ Symptoms
-
An Introduction to Subacromial Sensitivity-Treatment and Management
-
Rotator Cuff Related Shoulder Pain- An Update
-
Simplifying the Foot and Ankle- the EEMO Approach
-
An Introduction to Pelvic Girdle Pain and Coccydynia
-
An Introduction to Hypermobility Related Disorders
Sarah is looking forward to taking further courses in acupuncture, Craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation and others. She has a special interest in helping people heal from many different injuries and long term compensation patterns. Sarah has a special interest in helping those with hypermobility spectrum disorders restore function and manage the complexities of the condition. Being hypermobile herself she is constantly learning how to help other in similar situations.

Sarah enjoys working in this field as she finds it fascinating how physios
can help people regain function and meet their goals. As a former athlete
who has competed at the World Games and several World Championships
for team Canada in the sport of Kayak Polo, she has been all too familiar
with injuries and receiving physiotherapy herself. She's also had plenty of personal experience with knee injuries and ACL reconstructions.

Outside of the physio world Sarah enjoys spending time outside hiking, skiing, walking her dogs, and travelling.
